I want to create a catamaran dinghy that can be put together and taken apart for use with a sailboat. So, the two hulls or floats would each be composed of two fiberglass sides that would be connected at the bottom and each ends with a form of flexible HDPE plastic. In this way the two sides could fold together and be more compact. When expanded, I would need to put slats towards the top of the hull so that it would keep the hull open and rigid. Then I would need a slot on the inner side of both hulls where I could also slide slats into it and that would form the floor of the dinghy. I would need a vertical slat at the back so that I could slide in a transom piece. If you were to separate the two hulls and remove the slats, you should be able to fold together a hull and it would be fairly flat. You should not have curvatures that would cause it to be not flat in this configuration. The slide in transom slat should be where a motor would be mounted.

A modern luxury electric passenger river catamaran boat, standalone object on a neutral background. The boat features twin hulls made of matte white marine steel. The roof is styled like a traditional Kelantanese/Minangkabau curved sweeping roof, built from rich polished dark mahogany wood, but topped with sleek modern solar panels. The sides are open-air with clean wooden benches inside. Minimalist, eco-friendly futuristic transport, highly detailed, photorealistic materials, 3D architectural asset.

The Technical Design Blueprint
1. The Hull (The Raft)
To ensure stability while carrying a water tank and battery, a catamaran (twin-hull) design is best.
Pontoons: Two parallel 1-meter lengths of 40 mm PVC pipe.
Aero-Dynamics: 40 mm PVC cones (reducers or 3D-printed caps) on all four ends to reduce water resistance.
Structure: Connect the two pontoons using 40 mm T-pieces and cross-bars to create a "ladder" frame. This platform will hold your electronics box and the sample tank.
2. Propulsion & Steering
Motor: A waterproof brushless motor with a 3-blade propeller.
Steering: You can use a differential thrust setup (two motors, one on each hull) which eliminates the need for a physical rudder, making it more maneuverable in weedy river water.
3. The Sampling System (The Payload)
Intake: A weighted 12V submersible pump or a peristaltic pump (better for maintaining sample integrity).
Storage: A small HDPE tank (approx. 500ml–1L) mounted in the center of the raft.
Sensors: In-situ probes for pH, TDS (Total Dissol

A high-detail 3D engineering render of a DIY Autonomous Surface Vehicle (ASV) named 'Aqua-Vac Bot' isolated on a clean white background. The robot is a large catamaran design, 350mm long and 300mm wide. The twin hulls (pontoons) are made from two clear 1.5L plastic soda bottles. A wide, flat blue plastic deck sits atop the pontoons, supporting a waterproof central electronics shell.
