Hypothesis: 

Using energy generated by a marine turbine, this project aims to power a system designed to reduce micro plastic pollution in the ocean. The turbine harnesses renewable ocean energy to operate the collection and filtration mechanisms, allowing the system to function sustainably without relying on external power sources By integrating clean energy with innovative micro plastic removal methods, the project supports long-term ocean purification while minimizing environmental impact.

Plastic pollution beneath the water surface is a hidden yet serious environmental threat that harms marine ecosystems, endangers aquatic life, and enters the human food chain. Most existing cleanup methods focus only on surface waste and are ineffective in deep, dark, or turbid waters, making underwater plastic removal slow and inefficient.

To address this issue, our project proposes a solar-powered, AI-integrated underwater robotic system for intelligent detection and collection of submerged plastic debris. The system combines optical, microwave, sonar, and hyperspectral sensors to identify plastics accurately even in low-visibility conditions. AI processes sensor data in real time to differentiate waste from marine life, ensuring safe and precise operation.
