A majestic and terrifying fusion of: Tectonic plate, mountain granite, and crystalline gemstone. Physical Description The Obsidius is a colossal humanoid figure, standing three times the height of a man. Its body appears as if a mountain ridge has been given life and purpose. It moves with a slow, inexorable, grinding grace, each step causing the earth to tremble. * Body & Limbs: Its torso and powerful, pillar-like legs are composed of interlocking plates of dark basalt and slate, resembling rugged, layered stone armor. Cracks between the plates glow with a deep, sullen orange light, as if molten rock flows just beneath the surface. Its arms are massive, ending in five-fingered hands of rough-hewn granite, capable of crushing boulders into dust. * The Head: The creature has a distinct head, but no mouth, nose, or ears. Its entire head is a single, smooth, polished sphere of jet-black obsidian. Set into this dark sphere are its only features: two deeply embedded, faceted gemstones that serve as its eyes. * The Eyes: These are not mere ornaments. They are large, brilliantly cut gems that pulse with a steady, intelligent light. Common colors include a fiery ruby (for a more aggressive, volcanic Obsidius), a cold, piercing diamond (for a more ancient and calculating one), or a deep, mystical sapphire. The light from these eyes can intensify to a blinding beacon when the creature is threatened or using its power. Behavior & Battle Prowess The Obsidius is not quick to anger, but when its domain is threatened, its aggression is as patient and devastating as an avalanche. It is a guardian of the deepest mountains and most sacred stone places. * Deliberate Wrath: It does not rush. It advances with the unstoppable force of a glacier, ignoring minor attacks. Its stone body makes it nearly impervious to conventional weapons. * Geokinesis: The Obsidius commands the earth. It can cause spikes of rock to erupt from the ground, create fissures to swallow foes, or pull a wall of stone from the earth to shield itself. * The Gaze of Petrification: The true power of its gemstone eyes is the ability to fire a focused beam of crystalline energy. This beam does not turn flesh to stone, but rather rapidly encases the target in a prison of unbreakable, semi-transparent crystal, trapping them for eternity. * Shattering Finale: In a final act of destruction, an Obsidius can slam its hands into the ground, causing a localized earthquake and shattering the terrain around it into deadly, razor-sharp shards of rock and crystal. Mythic Origin The Obsidius is not born, but awakened. It is the manifested spirit of a mountain range, a deep-earth fault line, or a place where the planet's crystalline heart is exposed. They slumber for millennia, only stirring when the balance of their domain is severely disrupted—be it by a great mining operation, a defiling magic, or a cataclysmic war. To face one is to face the vengeful soul of the world itself.
