The portal is mounted on a circular or hexagonal base around 100–120mm across for stability and visual presence. The portal frame is built from ancient weathered stone with exaggerated fantasy proportions suitable for miniature painting and readable detail at small scale. Thick cracked stones form a gothic archway, uneven and slightly leaning from age. Large carved runes are deeply engraved into the surface so they remain visible after printing and painting. The runes emit magical energy from recessed channels, designed to be painted with glowing object source lighting effects.
