A single black felt tricorne hat of the Golden Age of Piracy, Caribbean, around 1715-1726. Matte wool felt with a low, rounded crown. The wide circular brim is turned up and fastened against the crown at three evenly spaced points, 120 degrees apart, forming three distinct upswept corners with a curved dip between each pair. It is a three-cornered hat, not four-cornered. A narrow pale linen tape binds the outer edge of the brim, with visible hand stitching. The felt is genuinely worn: sun-faded to a dusty charcoal in places, faint salt staining, softened edges. No feather, no cockade, no buckle, no skull motif, no gold braid.
