After a long time without seeing their daughter Nangsa Öbum, her father Kunzang Dechen and mother Nyangtsa Saldrön heard that Nangsa, together with her son and attendants, was coming to visit them. Overjoyed, her father carried a white ceremonial scarf (khadar) and her mother carried a jar of wine. They went some distance from their home to welcome her. When they met her on the road, they sang a song expressing their happiness and amazement at seeing their daughter again. They compared Nangsa to a snow lion returning to the snowy mountains, an eagle returning to the red cliffs, a deer returning to the meadow, and a fish returning to the blue lake. Just as these creatures belong naturally to their homes, they felt blessed that their daughter had returned to them. They asked lovingly: "Dear daughter Nangsa Öbum, are you in good health?"
