He was small — barely the size of a house cat — but nothing in the bush moved out of his way faster than Baron did. Baron didn't care about size. He didn't care about fangs, claws, or stingers. When Baron wanted something, Baron went and got it. One blistering afternoon, Baron caught the scent of something sweet drifting on the wind. Honey. Real, wild, dripping honey, tucked inside a hollow baobab tree thirty feet up. The only problem: the tree already had a tenant. A swarm of African bees, thousands strong, guarding their hive like a fortress. Baron didn't slow down. He scrambled up the trunk, claws digging into the bark, while the bees rose in an angry golden cloud around him. They stung his nose. They stung his ears. They stung every soft patch of skin they could find. Baron sneezed. Then he kept climbi
