Prompt
Design a waterproof 3D-printable enclosure for a handheld device called Inspector System. The enclosure size is about 140 × 105 × 40 mm, wall thickness 3 mm, with a removable bottom lid fixed by 4 M3 screws and a gasket groove for sealing. The front face is slightly inclined and contains a 70 × 32 mm window for a 2.9" e-paper display with internal mounting step. The top panel includes two 12 mm threaded push button holes spaced ~28 mm apart. One side must include openings for USB-C connector, power switch, and encoder cable exit with strain relief. Inside provide PCB standoffs for ESP32 and display shield, cable routing, and a battery compartment for a 60 × 94 mm Li-ion battery at the bottom. The enclosure should include reinforced corners, internal ribs, and a rear mounting surface to attach to a measuring wheel handle. Suitable for FDM 3D printing. The enclosure will be 3D printed and must be robust, compact and easy to assemble. The enclosure consists of: • a main upper body • a removable bottom cover (lid) fixed with 4 screws • a gasket groove for waterproof sealing Overall dimensions Approximate outer size: 140 mm width 105 mm depth 40 mm height Wall thickness: 3 mm The front surface should be slightly inclined for better visibility of the display. Display The front face must include a window for a 2.9 inch e-paper display. Visible display area: 70 mm × 32 mm Requirements: • rectangular display window centered on the front inclined panel • internal step for positioning the display module • internal mounting supports for the display PCB behind the screen Top panel controls The top panel must contain two reset buttons. Specifications: • 2 threaded push buttons • mounting hole diameter: 12 mm • center distance between buttons: about 28 mm • at least 10 mm clearance from edges Side connectors One side wall must include: USB-C connector opening for charging and programming power switch slot cable exit hole for the rotary encoder cable The encoder cable opening should allow installation of a rubber cable gland or strain relief. Internal structure Inside the enclosure there are: • ESP32 NodeMCU shield board • second shield for the display electronics • battery pack • power converter modules Internal supports must include: • PCB mounting standoffs • cable routing channels • battery compartment Battery compartment Battery type: Li-ion battery Size: 60 mm × 94 mm The battery should be positioned at the bottom of the enclosure in a dedicated compartment with small clearance. Include: • flat support surface • retaining edge around the battery • space for wiring Bottom cover (lid) The bottom cover must: • close the enclosure with 4 screws (M3) • include a lip that fits inside the enclosure for alignment • include a groove for a rubber gasket to make the enclosure water resistant Cover thickness: 3 mm Mounting support The enclosure must include a mounting interface to attach the device to the handle of a measuring wheel. Requirements: • flat mounting surface on the rear side • reinforced structure • space to add a clamp or screw tightening mechanism later Structural requirements • reinforced corners • internal ribs for rigidity • filleted edges for durability • suitable for FDM 3D printing Assembly concept Assembly order should allow: install display in front panel mount buttons and side connectors mount PCBs on standoffs place battery in compartment route cables close enclosure using the bottom lid with gasket and 4 screws
