Generate a mecha. It's appearance should convey a clumsy, hulking mech, we want something thicker and not super sleek; something more super robo and tokusatsu and less flashy. Think the robot from Remote Control Dandy, Megas XLR, classic Zaku's, RX-78 (in terms of the simplicty, and blocky not-too-detailed design), the Patlabor robot, and Gunbuster. My favorite mech design of all time—which totally embodies this "clunky", hulking, slow moving feel—is Big O. The thicker lower arms/lower legs, big feet/hands, broad torso and large pauldron-like shoulders sell this classic style. I like simplicity but still reads as a mech, leaning towards designs from the 80's and 90's.
