Here's an original short script: THE LAST SHIFT A short film script FADE IN: INT. DINER — NIGHT A small roadside diner, 2 AM. Fluorescent lights hum. Rain streaks the windows. MARIE, 58, wiry and sharp-eyed, wipes down the counter with the practiced efficiency of someone who has done it ten thousand times. The bell above the door jingles. COLE, 30s, soaking wet, sits at the counter. He wears a suit that was expensive once. MARIE Coffee? COLE Please. She pours without looking at him. MARIE Kitchen's closed. I got pie. COLE What kind? MARIE The kind that's left. He almost smiles. She sets a slice of apple pie in front of him anyway. COLE How'd you know? MARIE Nobody comes in here at two in the morning for the ambiance. A beat.
