Mastercrafted Wooden Shelf – Artisan’s Description This shelf was meticulously handcrafted using a combination of precision woodworking and traditional joinery techniques. It is built from four solid wooden boards: two measuring 600mm × 150mm for the top and bottom panels, and two measuring 600mm × 30mm for the vertical supports. Materials and Tools The wood selected was solid pine, chosen for its fine grain, light tone, and ease of shaping. All boards were cut manually with a Japanese pull saw for clean, accurate cuts, and then refined using hand planes and sanding blocks to achieve a smooth, even texture. Every edge and corner was checked with a square and marking gauge to maintain perfect alignment during assembly. Crafting Process After cutting, the surfaces were progressively sanded with grits ranging from 120 to 400 to remove imperfections and reveal the natural beauty of the wood.
