One hot summer day, a thirsty crow flew around searching for water. He felt weak and tired, as he could not find a drop anywhere. Finally, he spotted a pitcher sitting beneath a tree.The crow flew down to the pitcher and saw there was a little water at the bottom. However, the pitcher had a narrow neck, and the water level was too low for him to reach it with his beak.He tried to push the pitcher over, but it was too heavy. He even tried to break it, but his beak was not strong enough. Frustrated, the crow sat down and thought about giving up.Suddenly, he noticed some small pebbles scattered on the ground. An idea struck him. He picked up the pebbles one by one in his beak and dropped them into the pitcher.As each pebble fell to the bottom, the water slowly rose higher.
