Crumbling havelis, narrow sandstone lanes, and abandoned baoris (stepwells) echo with voices that are not human. At dusk, strange ghungroo sounds drift through the dry wind, though no dancer has set foot here in decades. The locals speak of a restless spirit bound by betrayal, guarding a terrible secret buried beneath the dunes. In this cursed land: The desert storms carry whispered warnings. Lanterns flicker even when there’s no wind. Shadowy figures appear on rooftops and vanish when approached. Old paintings inside the haveli change expressions when no one is watching. You, the outsider, must unravel the truth behind the shraap— Who cast it? Why was the village abandoned? And what sleeps beneath the sands, waiting to be awakened?
