The door uses a rack and pinion gear mechanism connected to a servo motor. A single servo motor is mounted above the center of the door frame (160 × 100 × 5 mm base). A pinion gear is attached directly to the servo shaft. Each door panel (50 × 5 × 60 mm) has a gear rack running along its top edge. Both racks mesh with the same pinion gear but on opposite sides, so when the servo rotates in one direction, both panels slide outward simultaneously to open. When the servo rotates the other way, both panels slide inward to close. The door frame consists of 2 side pillars and 1 top bar holding the rails. A PIR sensor mounted in a small box above the frame detects motion and sends a signal to trigger the servo. The panels slide smoothly along rails fixed to the top bar.
