This phoenix crown stands 31.7 centimeters tall, with a top width of 34 cm, an outer diameter of 19 cm, and an inner diameter of 17 cm. The side panels (bobin) measure 23 cm in length and 5 cm in width, weighing 2165 grams. Crafted from lacquered thin bamboo strips, the entire crown is adorned with kingfisher feather inlay (diancui) forming ruyi cloud patterns, surrounded by 18 plum blossoms made of pearls and precious stones. Symmetrically placed on the front are a pair of emerald-blue flying phoenixes. Three golden dragons woven from gold wire are arranged at equal intervals on the top, with the left and right dragons holding jewel tassels in their beaks. The back of the crown features six fan-shaped bobin panels made of pearls and gemstones, spreading left and right. The rim is inlaid with a circle of flowers composed of rubies, with pendants hanging in profusion. In total, the crown is set with 95 rubies and sapphires, and 3426 pearls. Yet, this opulence of pearls and gems is overshadowed by the dominant emerald green hue—derived from the so-called "diancui" craftsmanship, which involves adhering blue kingfisher feathers to gold or silver bases of various shapes to form intricate patterns. Thanks to the iridescence and natural texture of the kingfisher feathers, the color and luster are exceptionally brilliant. The feathers on this crown are attached to stiff paper to create over eighty emerald cloud panels, layered in profusion, swaying gently and shimmering brightly. The dragons on the crown are formed from gold wire, decorated with diancui inlay and inlaid with pearls and gemstones, showcasing exquisite craftsmanship, luxury, and elegance. This crown is truly a treasure of the Ming Dynasty imperial court. Its inner frame is woven from thin bamboo strips into a circular shape, lined with silk gauze and lacquered both inside and out. Six tongue-shaped bobin panels at the back are crafted from twisted metal wire. The small dragons on the crown are also made by piling gold wire, a feat of unparalleled crafts
