Each ring is laser-etched with a radial stripe pattern (30% black opaque lines, 70% transparent gaps). The top ring has a visible pin-slot joint connecting it to the servo linkage. When rings are aligned: 70% light passes through. When rings rotate and offset: lines overlap for 100% blackout. A flush-mounted OLED screen on the base displays live sensor data.
